Accommodation, selected activities and two meals came to €2,135.90 on our family trip. That subtotal leaves out road travel, charging, groceries, shopping and several meals, but it shows how quickly accommodation and a handful of family activities add up.
We were two adults, a five-year-old and a dog, staying four nights from 25 to 29 November 2025. Here is what we paid for those ten purchases:

These November 2025 prices show how we spent our money; use quotes for your own dates when budgeting. Our accommodation alone accounted for more than two-thirds of it. The smaller attractions then accumulated almost unnoticed.
Build a total that belongs to your trip
Open a blank sheet and add six groups. Replace every figure above with a live quote for your dates:
- Arrival: flights or rail, airport transfer, luggage and child-seat charges.
- Local movement: bus tickets, taxi allowance, car hire, fuel/charging and parking.
- Accommodation: nightly total, taxes, breakfast, pet fee and cancellation premium.
- Activities: price for the exact ages in your party, single-driver supplements, insurance waivers and transfers.
- Food: groceries, one or two priority meals, snacks and hot drinks during long outdoor days.
- Contingency: at least one replacement indoor activity and enough flexibility to move a snow-dependent booking.
What I would change next time
I would keep the apartment kitchen and use it more. I would skip the €135 reindeer ride, which lasted about ten minutes, and put that money towards one longer animal experience. I would still make room for Kotahovi and Santa’s Salmon Place; both were highlights of the trip.
Santa Claus Village is free to enter, which makes it easy to decide on paid extras in the moment. Ask how long each one actually lasts before reaching for a card. The same applies to tours: a headline price is meaningless until you know whether transfers, winter clothing, damage waivers, photographs and real ride time are included.
Recalculate just before the free-cancellation deadlines. That is the moment to notice that a “good deal” requires two taxis or that three short activities now cost more than the one experience you really wanted.
